With the holidays around the corner it is inevitable for us to get caught in the hustle and bustle of this time of year. It is easy to consume ourselves in running errands and buying gifts and cooking big meals and forget what this time of year is really about.
Thanksgiving may be all about the food but the memories that stick out in my mind are of family and friends spending time together and reminiscing on the past and being there for one another. Unfortunately as I have gotten older I have personally placed less importance on spending time with family and spent more of my attention geared toward my phone and Facebook to really appreciate the time that I have with them.
So this year I will challenge you as well as I challenge myself. Thanksgiving only comes once a year so let’s all take this day to stop and smell the roses and be present with our families and friends. Have real conversations and be engaged, leave your phone in your pocket and connect with the ones that you love.
